Beautiful
"People" was composed by Jule Styne while the great Stanley Black wrote a beautiful arrangement of it for trumpet and orchestra, which he recorded first with the London Festival Orchestra and after many years re-recorded conducting the BBC Concert Orchestra. The version shared on this video is obviously inspired in Black´s arrangement.
Amazing playing and just so beautiful to listen to, over and over.
The best of the best forever.
Amen...
Those are some difficult passages.
One of the great marches, marvellous countermelody.
Sheer perfection!
I remember this piece from the Areas in the early 1990s. So glad there's now a recording of it on UA-cam :) Thank you.
Beautiful piece
And lucky me, I was there.. The most memorable test piece in my time. When I lived in London I went to the Nationals nearly every year. I'm now 83 and live in Wales within reach of Cory, arguably the current best band. My mate, Bob, (RIP, Old Chap) used to say you could always tell a good test piece if when you went to relieve yourself during the contest the ranks of band enthusiastic were humming, whistling, pom pom pomming a theme tune while attending to the needs of nature. This piece filled the bill perfectly...😊😊

No need for words ! Thank you.

Played this years ago with the NYBB, wonderful piece.

Beautiful played, but ouch, final note too low!
Beautiful Tone from the trombone. I'm learning this piece now and this will help a lot.
まさしく人の歌。声帯が唇になった。
Utterly divine playing. Thanks for sharing!
What beautiful control. Well done
O som mais lindo do mundo..
Superb sound
I could never play this due to the tears running down my face.
Just been announced as A Grade test for NZ champs
Total marvel..... since I was about 5 used to hear it over my granny's radio
Komponist H.L Blankenburg Deutschland Marschkönig, Wolfgang Blankenburg Urenkel Winnweiler ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is the worst arrangement I've ever heard, and my day is ruined.
I am playing THE trombone solo… you know the one. I can’t believe I actually agreed to it. 😂😂😂
A beautiful duet beautifully played. My wife and I hosted David Daws in our home when the ISB were at the now defunct corps in Halifax West Yorkshire. How unfortunate it was that David's cornet playing days came to such a premature end. By the way it was good to be able to follow the soloists' score
Wonderful. Thanks Pete.

Beautifully rendered 😊
That cornet solo in second movement, is simply stunning!! Must be Ben Godfrey? Or maybe Ian Porthouse?
